Interim Police Administrator Michael Lyle is pleased to share the Stoneham Police Department celebrated National Night Out with community members.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, the Stoneham Police Department joined thousands of police departments across the county as it celebrated National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes relationships and partnerships between police and the communities they serve.
The Stoneham Police and Fire Departments, Cataldo Ambulance, and Stoneham Towing had vehicles on hand for children to explore, while popcorn, ice cream and drinks were available. The Stoneham Recreation Department provided free games and music, and there was also a bounce house on the Town Common.
The Woburn Police Drone Unit was on hand, as well as representatives and vehicles from the Middlesex Sheriff’s Department, Environmental Police, Wakefield Police, Somerville Police, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Motorcycle Unit.
“National Night Out is a great opportunity to build relationships between community members and police, and we had a great time this year,” said Interim Police Administrator Lyle.
Stoneham Police continue to look for additional sponsors and participants to make National Night Out an even bigger event next year. Anyone who is interested in contributing to next year’s event should contact Officer Laura Engel at: LEngel@stoneham-ma.gov or Officer Stephen Aprile at: saprile@stoneham-ma.gov.
