Police Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is investigating a report of vandalism to multiple fences on Oak Street earlier this morning.
At approximately 8 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Oak Street for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, officers located multiple pieces of spray painted graffiti on fences.
The political graffiti included spray painted “Vote Trump 2020!” and “Police Lives Matter!” written across a fence. Similar graffiti was also located on another fence on the opposite side of Oak Street.
“We’re very disappointed to see this type of vandalism in our community and would like to remind everyone that it will not be tolerated,” Chief McIntyre said. “The Stoneham Police Department will be investigating this matter. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact us immediately.”
The incidents remain under active investigation by the Stoneham Police Department, and officers will maintain increased vigilance in seeking out potential vandalism activity in town.
