STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred this afternoon.
At approximately 12:23 p.m., police responded to the GameStop located in the Redstone Shopping Center at 69 Main St. for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, police learned that a male entered the store and walked to the register where he allegedly demanded money from the store clerk. A small knife was allegedly shown.
The unknown male left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled on foot east toward the adjacent Five Guys and then north toward Dunkin’ Donuts and the area of Westwood Ave. and Governor Rd.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as male, wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, white sneakers, an old man’s mask and black gloves.
